Apparently, there’ll be plenty of U.S. citizens changing the channel when Bad Bunny’s halftime show for Super Bowl LX begins.

The NFL selected Bad Bunny as this year’s Super Bowl halftime performer because of his “unique ability to bridge genres, languages, and audiences.” Jon Baker, the league’s SVP of Global Event Production, has defended the Grammy Award winner amid all the online criticism.

“We know his dynamic performances, creative vision, and deep connection with fans will deliver the kind of unforgettable experience we’ve come to expect from this iconic cultural moment,” Baker said.

Obviously, fans of Bad Bunny can’t wait to see him perform at Levi’s Stadium. However, it’s being reported that residents in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Utah and West Virginia won’t tune in for this year’s halftime show.

BetOnline put together a map showing which states plan on boycotting the halftime show. They used geotagged X data based on hashtags like “Boycott Bad Bunny” and phrases such as “I won’t be watching the halftime show.”

A few months ago, Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson criticized the NFL for selecting Bad Bunny as its halftime performer.

“If he don’t like the US, don’t come here to perform,” Dickerson said in October. “I heard some stuff he said about the United States. I’m from the US, I love my country. If you don’t like the United States, get your ass out of here, don’t come over here.”

During an interview with TMZ this week, Dickerson doubled down on this take.

“Look, why don’t we get somebody from right here from home? What how about someone from right here in San Francisco, all these artists right here in the area to play at the Super Bowl? Somebody that English,” Dickerson said. “I don’t know if it’s going to be in Spanish or whatever. What sense does that make?”

It’ll be interesting to see NBC’s ratings for Bad Bunny’s halftime show. If he ends up breaking records, that would silence the majority of his critics.
