It may feel a bit too early to start thinking about the 2026 NFL Draft, but mock draft season will be upon us before you know it. In fact, for many fans, mock draft season started the minute the Green Bay Packers‘ 2025 season ended.
A lot is going to happen between now and April 23rd, when the draft kicks off in Pittsburgh. Right now, the Packers don’t have a first-round pick, and they’ll start their selections with pick No. 52, which is in the second round.

Not having a first-rounder in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts was part of the price the Packers paid for getting Micah Parsons. They gave a lot to get a lot back in return, and that’s just part of the reality general manager Brian Gutekunst will have to work with unless he’s able to swing another trade and somehow get back into the first round.
So who should the Packers target in Round 2 and beyond? There are going to be a ton of names thrown around and many of them will be great picks.
Earlier this week, we focused on Iowa offensive lineman Gennings Dunker.
Now, let’s talk about Iowa State defensive lineman Domonique Orange:

Orange may have the best nickname in the 2026 NFL Draft, and you can absolutely make the case that he has one of the best nicknames of all time.
They call him “Big Citrus”, and there’s a reason for that. Orange checks in at 6-foot-4, 325 pounds.
He’s a big dude, and he knows what to do with his size.
Orange is a run-stuffer, without a doubt. He’s the guy you put at nose-tackle or one technique and ask him to take up a double team. The thing about him, though, is that he’s surprisingly athletic for his size.
Nobody is going to confuse him with Devonte Wyatt, who is actually a great pass-rusher for being 6-foot-3, 304 pounds, but “Big Citrus” has the quick-twitch to be able to shoot the gap, and he’s good at using his hands to get blockers off him.
The Packers struggled a bit against the run this past season, averaging 117.7 yards per game given up on the ground.

Adding Orange to this offensive line would go a long way. Speaking of Wyatt, he should be healthy by the start of the 2026 season, so new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon would be able to pair him and Orange together on the inside. Both of those players will demand double-teams, but so does Micah Parsons on the edge.
It’s a recipe for success.
Orange is projected as a third-round pick but the Packers would absolutely be justified taking him in the second round. Even if they don’t select him at No. 52, there’s a chance he’s still there at pick No. 84 in the third round, but if they like him, they may want to jump on him while they’re able to in round two.
