WASHINGTON (7News) — Former All-Pro NFL cornerback and Super Bowl champion with the Washington Redskins, Barry Wilburn, has died.

The Commanders confirmed the news to 7News Sports on Sunday.
Wilburn, 62, reportedly died in a house fire early Friday morning. According to reports, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Drafted by the Redskins in the eighth round of the 1985 NFL Draft, Wilburn played five seasons in the nation’s capital. He led the league in interceptions in 1987-88. That season, he and Washington would go on to win Super Bowl XXII against the Denver Broncos.
