As confetti fell and the Super Bowl LX spotlight centered on Kenneth Walker III’s dominant performance, a familiar voice from Denver stirred up offseason speculation.
Former Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay took to social media during the game to try and recruit Walker to come to Denver this offseason.
Kenneth Walker III is a Free Agent next year….. Just saying Denver 🤷🏽♂️ #BroncosCountry
“Kenneth Walker III is a free agent next year… Just saying Denver #BroncosCountry,” Lindsay wrote as Walker powered Seattle to a Super Bowl win and earned Super Bowl LX MVP honors.
Walker, just 25 years old, delivered the biggest performance of his career on the sport’s biggest stage.
He did so with his rookie contract nearing its end.
Walker’s Super Bowl showing capped off a postseason run that has significantly reshaped his value heading into free agency.
What was already a strong contract year quickly turned into a statement that will reverberate throughout the offseason.
Kenneth Walker’s Super Bowl Run Changes the Conversation
Walker finished the 2025 regular season with 1,027 rushing yards and five touchdowns, numbers that only tell part of the story.
His true impact came in January and February, when Seattle leaned heavily on him throughout its playoff run.
In three playoff games, Walker had 313 rushing yards, 104 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
He also averaged 4.8 yards per carry in the postseason.
In Super Bowl LX, he had 161 yards from scrimmage and was named MVP.
His MVP performance solidified his reputation as a true bell-cow back capable of carrying a team when it matters most.
League projections have recently estimated Walker for a four-year deal worth roughly $33.5 million when free agency opens in March 2026.
While some evaluators still note limitations in pass protection and receiving polish, his playoff dominance has likely erased any chance of a team-friendly deal.
Walker did everything to elevate his value and he will absolutely get paid.
Kenneth Walker’s Connection to the Denver Broncos
Lindsay’s tweet resonated in Denver for a reason.
The Denver Broncos are expected to explore ways to add more explosiveness to their backfield as signing a running back is at the top of their free agency list.
Walker’s skill set fits exactly what the Broncos have lacked.
Denver’s roster construction puts the team in a rare position to be aggressive if the front office believes the right opportunity presents itself.
The Broncos are projected to have roughly $28 million in cap space entering free agency.
With Bo Nix on a rookie contract and the offensive line largely stabilized, Denver has the flexibility to allocate resources toward upgrading skill positions.
Walker’s market value was already trending upward, and his playoff production has only strengthened his negotiating position.
Denver will now have to weigh whether committing premium money to a running back fits its long-term vision, especially with the Seahawks unlikely to want to lose their Super Bowl MVP and likely prepared to pay to keep him.
