With the close of the 2025 NFL season, the draft order is officially set, and despite no player movement happening right now, there are still ways to predict what the 2026 NFL season is going to look like. ESPN recently polled its NFL Nation reporters and came up with its first set of power rankings for the 2026 NFL season, and it’s not surprising to see where the Tennessee Titans landed.
The Titans averaged 16.7 points per game in 2025, placing them 29th in the league. Although quarterback Cam Ward showed promise as a rookie, he’ll need help to take his game to a higher level in Year 2. Tight end Chig Okonkwo was the Titans’ best yards-after-catch option, but he’s set to be a free agent. Tennessee lacks a true game changer who can dictate coverage assignments and be a scoring threat whenever he touches the ball. The defense also needs help at pass rusher and cornerback.
Turron Davenport is right, the Titans definitely need to add playmakers. They’ll attempt to do that through the draft and free agency when the time comes, and it’s possible that Chimere Dike, Gunnar Helm, or Elic Ayomanor become the playmaker they need in year two.

The teams that fell below the Titans include the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, Miami Dolphins, and Arizona Cardinals.
These power rankings will change as teams add players and let them go, and right now, it’s way too early to know what these teams will do in 2026. If we’re judging the teams based on where they sit today, then yes, the Titans are in the right spot. But if we’re trying to predict how they’ll stack up this season, there are a lot of things that have yet to happen in the NFL, making that prediction nearly impossible.
