SEATAC, Wash. — Fresh off a stunning Super Bowl win, the Seattle Seahawks will be returning to Sea-Tac International Airport on Monday afternoon ahead of a parade through downtown later in the week.
The team will be touching down aboard a chartered flight and disembarking in a cargo area at the airport, which has been re-branded as SEA Airport. In a controversial change, the airport will not allow fan access into the facility to view the aircraft or the team’s arrival.
Only credentialed media are being allowed into the secure area near the airfield. Journalists, videographers, and photographers will be asked to remain in a designated area to see the deplaning of the aircraft. These crews will also be asked to depart shortly after the team loads onto buses and returns to the Seahawks practice facility in Renton.
The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 to win Super Bowl LX on Sunday night. This is the team’s second Super Bowl win overall.
