A former member of the Jacksonville Jaguars played a key role in the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl 60 win over the New England Patriots.

Moving the ball didn’t come easily for either offense, with both the Seahawks and Patriots averaging under 5.0 yards per play for the entire game.

However, Seattle was able to make their way into Patriots territory a number of times, and it was kicker Jason Myers who often put points on the board.

Myers finished the game going 5-for-5 on field goal attempts and 2-for-2 on extra points. Of Seattle’s 29 points, Myers knocked through 17 of them.

Myers has spent the last seven seasons in Seattle, but his NFL career began in 2015 with the Jaguars. Myers spent three seasons in Jacksonville, appearing in 38 games while making 81% of his 79 field goal attempts.

Along with now being a Super Bowl champion, Myers is a two-time Pro Bowler — earning those honors in 2018 with the Jets and in 2022 with Seattle — and he’s made 85.6% of his career field goal attempts.

Defensive back Shaquil Griffin, who spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons in Jacksonville, is now a Super Bowl champion as well after returning to Seattle this season.
