The 2025 season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is one of the NFL’s great mysteries.

How so? Glad you asked.

After Week 6, the Buccaneers were the talk of the NFL world at 5-1. Baker Mayfield was an MVP candidate, and the defense had more than played its role as well.

But after that? The Bucs would nose-dive and go 3-8 the rest of the way to miss out on the playoffs.

As such, an overhaul of the coaching staff followed as Tampa Bay tries to get back what it had earlier in the season.

For ESPN’s Jenna Laine, the Buccaneers’ offseason in three words is an interesting one.

She wrote “Recapture their mojo.”

Bucs have to figure out reason for fade out

One factor that likely played a huge role was injuries.

The Bucs were without Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Bucky Irving for large portions of the season, and you could argue that outside of Mayfield, they are Tampa’s best three players.

Still, there is more than enough talent on the roster to not go 3-8 down the stretch.

Everything was going fine, and then boom, suddenly it wasn’t.

Recapturing their mojo is an easy thing to say, but this is a big mental challenge in front of the Buccaneers this offseason, and it’s one that isn’t an easy fix.
