Last fall, the Kats announced Clarksville’s F&M Bank Arena would be hosting their home games in the 2026 season. Jeff Fisher appeared on the Main Street Media’s Taste of Nashville to talk about the move.
On the Thursday, Feb. 5 edition of Main Street Media’s Taste of Nashville, hosts John Dwyer and Devon O’Day sat down with former Tennessee Titans Coach Jeff Fisher, who talked about his Superbowl memories and the future of the Nashville Kats in Clarksville.
Last fall, the Kats announced Clarksville’s F&M Bank Arena would be hosting home games in the 2026 season.
Fisher is the Commissioner of Arena Football One, and President of Football Operations for the Nashville Kats.
Fisher said he’s enjoying his home now in the indoor football world and the move to Clarksville has been a win-win.
“We have nine teams out there and we are ready to go when the season kicks off in April,” Fisher said. “We did move everything up to Clarksville, which is a great market right now. They did not have a professional team, but they have Austin Peay and F&M Bank Arena and a good relationship with the Preds.”
O’Day commended Fisher for continuing his talent with football in a different form.
In explaining how indoor football is played, Fisher said just imagine putting the astroturf down on the ice of a hockey rink, then playing football.
“It’s a 50-yard field, no punting,” Fisher explained. “There are goal posts and nets, and it is a fast-paced scoring game. It’s eight-on-eight.”
Fisher admits he’s still learning the rules, but a team can be down 24-points and still win.
The best thing about arena football is the fan engagement between the players and the fans, Fisher said.
“They are just on the other side of the wall, so the players are slapping hands with the kids and the fans,” Fisher said. “I’ve been blown away with the excitement and the enthusiasm.”
In addition to the Kats, AF-1 has the Albany Firebirds; the Kentucky Barrels; the Beaumont Renegades; the Minnesota Monsters; the Michigan Arsenal; the Oregon Lightning; the Washington Wolfpack; and the Oceanside Bombers.
