The Pittsburgh Steelers are officially turning their attention to the 2026 campaign now that the Seattle Seahawks have been crowned the champions of Super Bowl LX. As a result, the Steelers are going to have to begin planning on how to build out their roster this offseason, and easily the biggest question this team faces revolves around the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
It seemed like 2025 would be Rodgers’ final year in the NFL, but a solid season with Pittsburgh opened the door for him to return to the team in 2026. It certainly didn’t hurt that the team hired Mike McCarthy to be its new head coach, and according to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, it sounds like Rodgers will be the one deciding what his future with the Steelers looks like.
“Aaron Rodgers has to decide what he wants to do, but I think the Pittsburgh Steelers absolutely would love to have him back and would welcome him back,” Schefter said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Now that the Super Bowl is in the rearview mirror, the offseason is really going to begin ramping up, meaning Pittsburgh is going to need to know what Rodgers’ plans are sooner rather than later. The team appears to want him to return for at least one more year, but once again, it seems like the ball is in Rodgers’ court when it comes to determining what his NFL future looks like.
