“Of course, this comes on the heels of Diggs and the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice the unfollowing — and we checked for ourselves … it’s legit. That said, it’s unclear whether the unfollowing happened before or after the tough loss.”
Latest Sign of Trouble for Stefon Diggs
Diggs and Cardi B just welcomed a son in November, but the All-Pro wide receiver has also faced plenty of personal struggles. He faces criminal charges of felony strangulation or suffocation stemming from an incident on Dec. 2, when police said he had a dispute with a former personal chef that turned physical.
Diggs received a delay in the arraignment until February 13. Though the Patriots receiver vehemently denied the charges, he could still face a suspension from the NFL, which has wide latitude to issue punishments to players who face criminal charges.
Diggs will also face a more immediate risk, with the NFL potentially fining him for a fight that took place in the second half of the Super Bowl. Diggs was hit while out of bounds — a play that will likely draw its own fine — and responded by shoving Seahawks defensive back Josh Jobe.
Jobe then threw a punch at Diggs, prompting players on both teams to break up the scuffle. Jobe will likely face discipline for the play as well.
Diggs could have more legal troubles as well. TMZ also reported in the days before the Super Bowl that Diggs was hit with a new civil lawsuit accusing him of defamation related to a stolen car.
“In the docs, a man who claims he used to work for Stefon says in July 2024, Stefon requested he arrange for Stefon’s Ferrari to be transported from Miami to New York and then to Houston … but he says the Ferrari was stolen in Houston,” the report noted. “The guy claims law enforcement concluded the Ferrari was stolen by third parties in a sophisticated theft … but he says Stefon started telling people in their circles that the guy stole the car.”
