Donald Trump reacted forcefully to Super Bowl 60, calling for immediate change after what he described as a damaging moment for the NFL.
Following the game, the former US president focused his criticism on the halftime show and quickly expanded his comments to include league policy.

Trump shared his reaction in a post published by TrumpTruthOnX, responding directly to Bad Bunny’s halftime performance.
He wrote, “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, ever! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of success, creativity, or excellence.
“Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children who are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”
The comments were uncompromising and immediate. Trump framed the halftime show not as a matter of taste, but as a failure to reflect what he believes the Super Bowl should represent.
As has often been the case, Trump’s reaction quickly spread across social media, becoming part of the wider debate surrounding the NFL’s entertainment choices.
Why Donald Trump wants the NFL to change its kickoff rule
Trump’s post did not stop at the halftime show. He also used the moment to call out a specific NFL rule change.
He continued, “This ‘show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the best Stock Market and 401(k)s in history!
“There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a halftime show and watch, it will get great reviews from the fake news media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the real world, and, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new kickoff rule. Make America great again!”
The mention of the kickoff rule stood out. Rather than limiting his response to entertainment, Trump shifted attention to on-field changes introduced by the league.
His criticism suggested frustration with what he sees as unnecessary adjustments to the game itself.
The NFL’s revised kickoff rule, which was introduced in 2024, has already divided fans, with some praising the improvements and others arguing it removes excitement.
As Super Bowl 60 fallout continues, the former president’s comments ensured the halftime show debate expanded beyond music.
It became, once again, a flashpoint for how sport, culture, and politics intersect on the biggest stage.
