The Kansas City Chiefs have selected Tennessee defensive tackle Omarr Norma-Lott with the 63rd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
6’1” | 291 | Tennessee
North Highland, California
Background: From the West Coast, Lott was rated as a three-star recruit coming out of Grant Union High School and signed with the Arizona State Sun Devils, turning down a handful of other Power Five offers.
After three seasons at Arizona State, Lott transferred to Tennessee at the start of the 2023 season.
In two seasons as a contributor for the Volunteers, Lott recorded 9.5 sacks and became a key contributor on their run to the College Football Playoff in 2024.
Lott displayed a solid combination of explosion and quickness at the NFL Scouting Combine in March, and the Chiefs made him one of their top 30 draft visits. The team clearly liked what they saw, and now he is a Chief.
Strengths: Lott is a powerful and explosive player who uses his leverage and hands to win snaps and create penetration in the pocket. He has good short-area quickness, and with a good first step, he can quickly stop plays before they get started. Powering through his lower body also helps him shock opposing blockers off the ball in the run game, and his stout frame helps him hold his ground against double-team blocks.
Weaknesses: Lott only started two games during his time as a Volunteer and spent the entire 2024 season coming off the bench. This lack of exposure leaves something to be desired when evaluating his film.
How he fits with the Chiefs:
The Chiefs needed to add talent along the defensive line, and Lott helps fill an immediate need. He has the stout frame to be a solid run stuffer along the interior, but he also has the explosion and quickness to develop into a quality pass rusher as well. He should have plenty of opportunities to show what he can do early on in his career.
