In a post-Super Bowl three-round NFL mock draft from the NFL Network, who did the Jacksonville Jaguars come away with?

The Jaguars may not have a first-round pick in this year’s draft, but they do have four selections in the top 100 — providing GM James Gladstone with some flexibility and the opportunity to boost the roster.

Here is who Chad Reuter had the Jaguars coming away with.

Pick 56: Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech

Rodriguez was one of PFF’s highest-graded run defenders at the linebacker position. He was also very good in coverage, generating four interceptions and three pass breakups. Rodriguez also forced seven fumbles.

Linebacker becomes a good-sized need for the Jaguars if Devin Lloyd ends up elsewhere in free agency.

Pick 81: Treydan Stukes, CB, Arizona

Stukes is an experienced player with nearly 2,700 career snaps on defense, with most of those snaps coming from the slot. This past season, he allowed a completion rate of 59% and 9.3 yards per catch. Stukes also came away with four interceptions and six pass breakups.

Cornerback is a need with Montaric Brown and Greg Newsome both free agents. However, with Jarrian Jones and Jourdan Lews on the roster, I don’t know that a nickel cornerback is a high priority.

Pick 88: Genesis Smith, S, Arizona

Smith played all over the secondary, but most of his college snaps came at free safety. He logged five interceptions and 10 pass breakups over three seasons. Missed tackles have been an issue at times.

Andrew Wingard is set to be a free agent, but I don’t know that safety is a position that the Jaguars have to utilize a top 100 pick. Eric Murray and Antonio Johnson are returning, while the Jaguars drafted Caleb Ransaw and Rayuan Lane just last April.

Pick 100: Max Klare, TE, Ohio State

Klare caught 116 passes over three seasons, totaling 1,328 yards at 11.4 yards per catch with six scores. Nearly half of his snaps came from the slot. For what it’s worth, he graded out we ll as a run-blocker this past season.

Tight end is an under-the-radar need. For one, there are only four tight ends under contract currently, and in addition to that, Hunter Long and Johnny Mundt are both entering the final year of their deals.

Final thoughts

Four picks and the top 100, and not one of them went towards addressing the defensive line. The board will dictate who the Jaguars are able to take, but this would feel like a missed opportunity, especially in a draft class with talent at that position group.
