SEATTLE — As the city of Seattle prepares for the Seahawks Super Bowl parade on Wednesday, small businesses along the parade route on 4th Ave in Seattle are preparing for a boom in business.

Some of these establishments are opening early and offering special promotions to attract the crowds. Askatsu Bakery, an allergen-free bakery on 4th Ave and Blanchard St., is preparing to serve hungry fans.

“We’re gonna bake extra, gonna keep baking as the day goes on and have water, coffee, and hot chocolate ready for the masses,” Elena Flory-Barnes, manager of Askatsu Bakery, said.

Fans coming early to get their spots on the parade route might need an energy boost.

“I know you’re gonna be needing your caffeine. If you like matcha, we’re doing a special promo,” Phi Bui, owner of Taz Matcha on 4th Ave and Stewarts St., said. Fans who come into the Matcha shop with a Seahawks jersey and use promo code “Hawks” can get 12% off. Taz sells matcha drinks with blue foam on top to represent the Hawks’ colors.

Lola, a brunch and Mediterranean restaurant, is preparing blueberry and lime Jello shots for fans over 21. Todd Hamm, the bar manager, said, “We’re stockpiling Jello shots right now.” Although Lola is fully booked, they will accommodate walk-ins in their outdoor area, which Hamm described as “a really good vantage point.”

As businesses along Fourth Avenue anticipate the boost in foot traffic, Bui expressed optimism, saying, “It’s good for the people that live here.

So exciting . It’s bringing life, it’s bringing energy. It’s also bringing small businesses more people, more support, and that’s what we need.”
