Tennessee Titans

Alec Pierce may not be talked about as a star, but don’t be shocked if he gets a massive contract in NFL free agency. One team that could be willing to pay up is the Tennessee Titans.

*Prediction*

It’s not a secret that the Titans need help at wide receiver. This past year, Chigoziem Okonkwo led the team in receiving yards as their tight end with 560.

Okonkwo is also a free agent in 2026, and there’s a chance he won’t be back with the team.

That means they didn’t have a single receiver crack over 600 yards. If Tennessee wants to help out Cam Ward, they need better weapons than this.

Their best receiver in terms of yards was Elic Ayomanor. Ayomanor was the team’s 136th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft with 515 yards.

That needs to change heading into 2026.

Alec Pierce Contract

Right now on Spotrac, Pierce is projected to have one of the highest average annual values among all 2026 free agent wide receivers. George Pickens is ranked at the top, but it seems like he’s not going to hit the open market, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

On February 7th, Schefter wrote that, “The Dallas Cowboys are expected to place their franchise tag on Pro Bowl wide receiver George Pickens, league sources told ESPN.”

With that being said, the only receiver ranked higher than Pierce is Jauan Jennings and Pickens. It wouldn’t shock me if Pierce gets paid more than Jennings.

Why the Tennessee Titans Should Sign Alec Pierce

As for why Pierce would make so much money, it’s because he looked like an elite deep threat this past year. It’s a lot tougher to find great outside receivers who can stretch the field than a slot receiver.

Pierce comes in at 6’3” and 211 lbs on top of only being 25 years old right now. Compare that to Jennings, who’s 28 years old.

This past year, Pierce played 86.6% of his snaps out wide and just 13.4% in the slot (per PFF). It’s not as if this is just a one-time thing, either.

Pierce has never played less than 81% of his snaps on the outside since coming into the NFL.

In that alignment, Pierce had a monster 2025 season, catching 47 passes for 1,003 yards. That came out to a league-leading 21.3 yards per reception.

Pierce actually led the league in that mark in 2024 as well, with 22.3.

The most obvious reason that Tennessee should sign Pierce is that he’s proven and young. It wouldn’t make sense to go after Jennings or a player like Deebo Samuel, given that they’re rebuilding.

Tennessee should look to target a wide receiver in the NFL Draft as well, but when they do so, it should be someone who commands targets.

Pierce is a great player, but he would ideally be a very good WR2. He’s never crossed over 85 targets in a season.

Alec Pierce Stats

Over the past two years, Pierce has scored at least six touchdowns in both of them. Not only that, but his yards per game mark has been above 50, with 2025 seeing a big jump.

Pierce went from 51.5 in 2024 to 66.9 in 2025.

Alec Pierce isn’t viewed as a superstar by many fans around the league, but this would be a phenomenal signing if the Tennessee Titans can make it happen.
