On Tuesday, Alabama transfer defensive lineman Kedrick Bingly-Jones received good news, with his eligibility waiver getting approved by the NCAA. The former Mississippi State Bulldog and UNC Tarheel will play his seventh season of eligibility with the Crimson Tide after the waiver was approved.

Kedrick Bingley-Jones, a 6-foot-4, 320-pound defensive tackle originally from Concord, North Carolina, committed to Alabama via the transfer portal on January 11. He spent four seasons with the North Carolina Tar Heels, redshirting due to injury during his true freshman season in 2020. In 2021, he appeared in 11 games on the defensive line and on special teams. In 2022, he appeared in 11 games, recording five tackles. In 2023, he started two games for the Tar Heels, but missed 10 that season due to injury, resulting in him earning that year back due to a medical redshirt.

He transferred to Mississippi State ahead of the 2024 season as a redshirt junior and started four games before missing eight due to injury, recording seven tackles and one tackle for loss. In 2025, he started all 13 games for the Bulldogs, with a career-high 25 tackles, one pass deflection, and 0.5 tackles for loss on the season.

Bingley-Jones was the ninth transfer portal addition for the Crimson Tide this offseason, and a much-needed addition after Alabama lost Tim Keenan III to the NFL draft and James Smith to the transfer portal.
