Even as the Cleveland Browns have significant needs on the offensive side of the ball, some can’t but be tempted by the prospect of adding another impact pass rusher to this group.
As someone who advocated for Abdul Carter as a selection second overall last year, I understand even as I think the Browns should re-sign Cameron Thomas. Having watched the Seattle Seahawks smother the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, the idea of adding even more to that side of the ball is an intriguing option. the talent at the top of the draft isn’t as compelling as it was with Carter or Mason Graham last year.
But what this class lacks in top end edge talent, it makes up for with depth. One player being projected to go on day two, often in the third round, has outstanding production, prototypical size and his first step is an excellent fit with the attacking style the Browns play on their front. But if they were to go this route, they could still focus their most premium picks on the offensive side of the ball.
