The Denver Broncos will likely look for tight end help this offseason.

That could come in free agency, or perhaps in the NFL Draft.

ESPN’s Field Yates released his latest mock draft on Wednesday and he’s got Denver looking at Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq in Round 1. The Broncos are slated to pick No. 30 overall when the festivities begin in late April.

“Sadiq’s range surely starts sooner than here, as this would be great value for a Broncos team with limited needs,” Yates wrote. “Coach Sean Payton has long valued a player who can be their ‘joker,’ a player who is either a top-end receiving back or mismatch tight end.”

Evan Engram was supposed to be that ‘joker’ for Payton in 2025, but it didn’t really work out.

He played in 16 of 17 contests, but never really seemed to make game-breaking plays. Engram finished with 50 catches for 461 yards and only one touchdown. In two playoff games, Engram added just three catches for 26 yards.

He’s likely to be on the Broncos next season, as cutting him would trigger more than $10 million in dead salary cap, but surely tight end is a position that GM George Paton and Payton want to upgrade.

Sadiq had a big season for the Ducks, catching 51 passes for 560 yards and eight touchdowns. He was the guy at the position for Oregon after Littleton product Terrance Ferguson was drafted last year by the Los Angeles Rams.

Sadiq’s catches and yards were both team-highs for the Ducks, who lost in the semifinals to eventual national champion Indiana.

It feels like Broncos Country would be okay with a tight end being the selection in Round 1 — and we’ll see if Sadiq is the guy.
