The Cincinnati Bengals continued the recent trend of pay cuts for underperforming players this past week with a restructuring for guard Cordell Volson.
Cincinnati’s team transaction report revealed the otherwise quiet news. ESPN’s Ben Baby followed up by reporting that Volson’s base salary has been reduced while giving him new guaranteed money for 2025 and incentives.

Still on his rookie deal, Volson was due roughly $3.7 million next season via a proven performance escalator. The mentioned incentives will likely directly hinge on snaps played.
Cincinnati drafted Dylan Fairchild, signed Lucas Patrick and brought back Cody Ford, giving them three other players capable of pushing for the two starting jobs one year removed from Volson getting benched.
Volson joins Geno Stone as another embattled starter dealing with a contract restructure this offseason.
