Earlier today, SNY’s Connor Hughes suggested that one player the New York Jets could target this offseason is New York Giants WR Wan’Dale Robinson, who is set to enter free agency.
“Adding him alongside a healthy Wilson — and potentially targeting a receiver such as Jordyn Tyson, Carnell Tate or Makai Lemon with a second first-round pick — would significantly reshape the outlook of the Jets’ receiving corps,” Hughes wrote, referring to Robinson.
The 25-year-old WR is coming off the best season of his career, recording 92 receptions for 1,014 receiving yards and four touchdowns, per ESPN.

Wan’Dale Robinson’s Potential Fit With the Jets
At 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, Robinson is best utilized as a slot receiver and is known for his exceptional speed and ability to work through traffic over the middle and create open space.
If the Jets opt to use an early draft pick on an outside WR to put on the opposite side of Garrett Wilson and plug Robinson into the slot, it could create a lethal receiving corps.
Even though Robinson is coming off a breakout season, he likely won’t command top-of-the-market money at the WR position, especially with free agency featuring top talent such as Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens, Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce, among others. Matt Bowen of ESPN ranked the Giants WR as the seventh-best wideout set to hit the open market this offseason.
“With at least 92 receptions in each of his past two seasons, Robinson is a volume target who can work multiple levels between the numbers,” wrote Bowen.
Although the Jets are positioned well in terms of cap space, currently holding $83,263,050, according to OverTheCap, signing a player like Robinson instead of pursuing the most expensive WR’s in free agency could make sense given his recent production and upside. It would also allow the team to have more financial flexibility to address other roster holes.

Who Else Might the Jets Target at Wide Receiver
There’s a realistic chance the Jets don’t target a slot WR like Robinson. They already have John Metchie III, who showed flashes of potential after being traded midseason from the Philadelphia Eagles. On top of that, WR1 Garrett Wilson has proven effective not just on the outside but also working in the slot, giving the team flexibility. Given those factors, the Jets’ thinking could lean toward adding a pure outside receiver instead.
Yes, there is a potential fit between Robinson and the Jets, but if that specific move doesn’t happen, there are plenty of other names the team could pursue.
For example, Pierce from the Colts was also mentioned by Hughes as a potential target for New York. While more expensive than Robinson, Pierce’s ability to excel on the outside could make him worth pursuing.
Of course, if New York doesn’t want to invest in the WR position in free agency they can add a strong player through the 2026 NFL Draft.
