Kevin Patullo, relieved of his duties after one year as Eagles offensive coordinator, has agreed to become passing game coordinator on Jeff Hafley’s Dolphins coaching staff, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Patullo spent the last five years on Nick Sirianni’s Eagles staff, four years as passing game coordinator and this past year as offensive coordinator and play caller.
In his one year as offensive coordinator, the Eagles ranked 24th in total offense, 23rd in passing offense, 24th in first downs, 24thon third down and 24th in scoring. They scored 20 or fewer points 10 times, their most since 2012.
According to Garafolo, the Eagles offered Patullo a different position on Sirianni’s offensive coaching staff, but he elected to leave the franchise and join the Dolphins instead under Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, who the Eagles interviewed for Patullo’s job.
Patullo, 44, previously coached with the Chiefs in 2007 and 2008, the Bills from 2010 through 2012, the Titans in 2014, the Jets from 2015 through 2016 and the Colts under Frank Reich with Sirianni from 2018 through 2020.
In Miami, Patullo becomes passing game coordinator with a team that doesn’t have a clear plan at quarterback. Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts’ teammate at Alabama and a 1st-round pick in 2020, was Miami’s QB when healthy since Week 6 of 2020 but is not expected back. The Dolphins finished 2025 with former 7th-round pick Quinn Ewers at quarterback, and they also had Zach Wilson, the second pick overall in 2021, on the roster in 2025, although he’s due to become a free agent this spring.
Patullo and Hafley have never worked together, although both grew up in North Jersey around the same time, Hafley graduating from Pascack Hills High School in 1997 and Patullo from Hillsborough High School in 1998.
The Eagles announced two days after the season ended that Patullo was out as offensive coordinator and play caller. Two weeks later, they replaced him with Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion, who becomes Hurts’ seventh play caller as a pro and fifth offensive coordinator.
Patullo becomes the fifth member of the Eagles’ 2025 coaching staff to depart the organization. Offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland stepped away, tight ends coach Jason Michael was replaced by Ryan Mahaffey, who also holds Stoutland’s old running game coordinator title, defensive backs coach Christian Parker was hired as Cowboys defensive coordinator and defensive assistant Tyler Yelk left for a job at Nebraska.
Offensive coaches from the 2025 staff who are expected to return are running backs coach Jemal Singleton and receivers coach Aaron Moorehead, as well as former pasing game coordinator Parks Frazier, who is expected to take on a different role in 2026. No word yet on the future of quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler.
