The Miami Dolphins have continued to assemble their coaching staff under new head coach, Jeff Hafley – appointed by new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan to replace former HC, Mike McDaniel, who was let go at the end of the 2025 season.
Hafley has already poached the linebackers coach from his former employer, the Green Bay Packers, in new defensive coordinator Sean Duggan, and added ex-Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to serve as quarterbacks coach.
But now Hafley has set his sights on hiring another former NFC offensive coordinator – this time as for the role of pass-game coordinator. And the former Green Bay defensive coordinator has chosen none other than former Philadelphia Eagles OC, Kevin Patullo, per Mike Garofolo.
Although Patullo was still on-staff in Philadelphia, the team decided to hire (another) Packers coaching alum; ex-Green Bay QB coach Sean Mannion; to succeed him as offensive coordinator, and gave him the freedom to explore further opportunities.

The #Eagles retained Patullo after making a change at OC but gave him the opportunity to search for another gig. He heads to Miami to join Jeff Hafley’s coaching staff alongside OC Bobby Slowik.
Dolphins Bring in Kevin Patullo as Pass-Game Coordinator
“The Dolphins are hiring Kevin Patullo as their pass-game coordinator, sources say.” Garofolo posted on X. “The Eagles retained Patullo after making a change at OC but gave him the opportunity to search for another gig. He heads to Miami to join Jeff Hafley’s coaching staff alongside OC Bobby Slowik.”
According to Garofolo, despite Patullo’s horrific reputation amongst the notoriously critical Eagles fanbase, he was given multiple other coaching opportunities to explore around the league before deciding to go with Miami.
“Patullo spoke to multiple teams about assistant roles.” Garofolo added.”He’s been a trusted assistant for Nick Sirianni who has helped him with some of his head-coaching responsibilities during the week and on gameday the last five years. Will do the same for new Dolphins HC Jeff Hafley.
One of the reasons that the former Eagle chose the Dolphins – beyond the excellent weather – may in part be down to Patullo’s familiarity with the area. As reported by The Athletic’s Zach Berman, Patullo went to school in Davie, Florida – nearby to where the Dolphins’ facility is.

Is Patullo a Good Addition for the Dolphins?
Pass-game coordinators don’t tend to have a huge impact on any single team’s season, unless they are singularly brilliant or completely incompetent, so chances are that this won’t change much for Miami either way.
But in general, having the opportunity to hire a former offensive coordinator – even one as maligned as Patullo by his former fanbase – is a boon, particularly if the role is a couple of rungs below their former position, which pass-game coordinator certainly is.
The Eagles offense is one of the toughest to manage in the NFL, due to both perennially sky-high expectations and the limitations on Jalen Hurts as a pure pocket-passer on a consistent, 17-game regular season basis, so being able to work in a lower-pressure situation in Miami could be exactly what Patullo needs.
And for Hafley, having three former OC’s in the building, along with Hackett and current holder of the job, Bobby Slowik – who performed the same role back in Houston with the Texans – will give him a greater feeling of security to let him focus on his speciality, the defense.
