The Miami Dolphins are bringing in former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo onto the new coaching staff under coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
Patullo is being hired by the Dolphins as pass game coordinator, according to reports by NFL Network and ESPN on Wednesday evening.
Patullo led the Eagles offense for one season before being fired after a subpar season defending Philadelphia’s Super Bowl title from the year prior. The Eagles, with Jalen Hurts at quarterback, were 24th in total offense, 23rd in passing offense and 19th in scoring offense.
Patullo was elevated into that role in Philadelphia after successful seasons as pass game coordinator from 2021 through 2024. In 2023 and 2024, he was also associate head coach to Nick Sirianni.
The Eagles have since hired Sean Mannion to be their next offensive coordinator. Mannion, incidentally, was previously on the Green Bay Packers’ coaching staff, where Hafley was defensive coordinator.
Patullo, 44, who was born in New Jersey but attended Western High in Davie, has had offensive assistant roles with the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs before landing with the Eagles and now the Dolphins. He has also coached in college at his alma mater South Florida, Arizona and Texas A&M.
Patullo joins the staff as another former offensive coordinator left from a support role he was previously bound to take. Nathaniel Hackett, who also has been a head coach with the 2022 Denver Broncos, was being hired as quarterbacks coach before he took the Arizona Cardinals’ offensive coordinator position.
Patullo’s role is apparently independent of a quarterbacks coach hire to fill the void left behind by Hackett.
Miami would still have vacancies on the offensive side of the staff at quarterbacks coach and tight ends coach, at least.
Before being promoted to offensive coordinator by Hafley, Slowik was senior passing game coordinator for Miami in 2025 under former coach Mike McDaniel. Slowik was an offensive coordinator the two seasons prior with the Houston Texans.
In Miami, Patullo and Slowik will be tasked with reigniting a Dolphins pass game that ranked 25th in the NFL last season and now may be parting ways with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa this offseason. Rising second-year quarterback Quinn Ewers, who started the final three games last season, is expected to compete for the starting job again in 2026.
