We are learning more about the meaning behind the custom jersey Bad Bunny wore during his Super Bowl halftime performance at Levi’s Stadium.
It featured the name “Ocasio” on the back and the number 64.
According to the media outlet, Complex, both were a nod to the singer’s late uncle.
His uncle was born in 1964 and introduced Bad Bunny to football and apparently was a 49ers fan.
Reps for Bad Bunny told Complex that he learned much of what he knows about the NFL from his late Uncle, Cutito, “who first shared with him a love for the San Francisco 49ers.”
“My uncle passed away two years ago, shortly after the 49ers lost to Kansas City in the 2024 Super Bowl,” Bad Bunny said in a statement. “I always dreamed of taking my uncle to a Super Bowl, and I couldn’t.”
So it was a full circle moment for the award-winning artist to perform at Levi’s Stadium.
And now you can pre-order your own Bad Bunny-inspired gear.
The sportswear brand Mitchell & Ness has teamed up with the singer on this cream colored jersey.
It costs $250 and will ship on May 1.
