Peyton Manning’s promoting a “Big Game” coming to Empower Field at Mile High.

No, not the Super Bowl (that could happen at the Denver Broncos’ future stadium). Rather, the Denver Summit’s inaugural home game in their National Women’s Soccer League expansion season next month.

The Summit are set to host the Washington Spirit at Empower Field at Mile High on Saturday, March 28, at noon MT (televised on CBS). The team has already sold a near-record 40,000 tickets, and Manning’s helping spread the word.

“Listen up, this is history-making, record-breaking, core memory-shaping stuff,” Manning said in a mock phone call to promote the game. “This is the event of the year!”

Manning joined the NWSL team’s ownership group as a minority investor last summer.

Following the special kickoff game at the Broncos‘ stadium, Denver Summit plans to play at a temporary stadium in Centennial over the next two years while an NWSL stadium is built downtown. The upcoming 14,500-seat stadium is scheduled to open in Denver ahead of the 2028 season.

The Broncos, meanwhile, aim to open a new stadium at Burnham Yard in time for the 2031 NFL season. There will be plenty of football — and fútbol — games at their current stadium in the meantime, including the Summit home opener and a Colorado Rapids match against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami on April 18.
