An old friend has found himself a new home on the sidelines.
According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Baltimore Ravens are hiring Keary Colbert as their new wide receivers coach. Colbert, a former wide receiver himself, played the first four seasons of his pro career with the Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers selected Colbert, a national champion and two-time second-team All-Pac 10 member at the Unviersity of Southern California, in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He’d go on to amass 109 receptions for 1,424 yards and seven touchdowns with Carolina through the 2007 campaign.
Colbert—after finishing up his playing career in stops with the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs and the UFL—returned to USC as a graduate assistant in 2010 and 2011. He’d also pick up coaching stops with Georgia State University (2013), the University of Alabama (2014-2015), USC again (2016 to 2021) and the University of Florida (2022).
His first coaching gig in the NFL came with the Broncos in 2023, as their wide receivers coach. He’d serve in that role for three years before departing this offseason.
