The Jacksonville Jaguars could experience a relatively high amount of turnover on the defensive side of the football this offseason.
ESPN’s Mike Clay recently shared a chart that displayed what percentage of each team’s defensive snaps from the 2025 season are still under contract in 2026.
When it comes to the Jaguars, only 60% of their defensive snaps from this past season are from players still under contract heading into the upcoming offseason. This is the third-lowest mark in football.

From the list above, there are several starters, and all of these players had some sort of role on defense during the 2025 season.
Given the current construction of the roster, it was already assumed that this could be a defensive-centric offseason for the Jaguars, but this chart from Clay helps illustrate that.
Depth at defensive end and tackle is a need — not to mention more pass rush juice inside. The level of need at linebacker will be dependent on whether or not Lloyd returns, while at cornerback and safety, the Jaguars have three starters at season’s end in Newsome, Brown, and Wingard set to hit free agency.
Salary-cap-wise, things are a bit tight right now for the Jaguars, although they can create more space. Jacksonville also holds 11 picks in the upcoming draft, including four in the top 100.
