The Seattle Seahawks made their first moves of the offseason on Thursday, signing 15 players to futures contracts.

All 15 players signed to deals were on the Seahawks’ practice squad or injured reserve at the end of the season.

The group includes three running backs: Velus Jones Jr., Cam Akers and Jacardia Wright. That’s particularly notable considering where Seattle’s running back room stands entering the offseason. Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III is set to hit free agency when the new league year begins Wednesday, March 11. And Zach Charbonnet could miss a portion of next season as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered Jan. 17 during the Seahawks’ NFC Divisional Round win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Jones and Akers each joined the Seahawks midseason to provide depth in the backfield and were elevated from the practice squad for Super Bowl. Wright, an undrafted rookie in 2025, led the team with 147 rushing yards in three preseason games, but landed on practice squad injured reserve Sept. 23 and missed the rest of the season.

Also among the 15 players signed to future deals was 2025 seventh-round pick wide receiver Ricky White III. White, a UNLV product, suited up for two games during the regular season, playing 22 total snaps (13 offensive, nine special teams) without recording any stats.
