The final week of the regular season features a change of pace as teams juggle the Thanksgiving holiday just before their regular-season finale. This year Week 13 also presents a first-ever flex week experience. The Bulldogs may not find out who they are playing until as soon as six days before kickoff.

Fresno State will tentatively host San Diego State, which would be the second meeting between the two. Fresno State is guaranteed a home game, which could flex away from San Diego State to any of Texas State, Boise State or Oregon State. The flex is based on the best interests of the Pac-12, most prominently positioning the two championship teams for a spot in the College Football Playoff.  The flex game will not count toward the conference standings.

If the Bulldogs host San Diego State, they will be coming off a road trip to Boise State. The game may potentially be a Friday to give the Aztecs an extra day of prep.

For Fresno State, the flex game will be Senior Night and also back-to-back home games to finish out the season. This is the only back-to-back home stretch of the year. A rivalry trophy will presumably be on the line for a second time in the event that Fresno State faces either San Diego State or Boise State.

The Bulldogs will only get three home games that count toward the Pac-12 standings, but the Bulldogs will avoid the challenges of a road flex game on Nov. 28 to potential cold-weather destinations.Â
