The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are likely still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong in 2025.

After six weeks, the Buccaneers had a 5-1 record, both sides of the ball were playing well, and Baker Mayfield was an MVP candidate.

But then injuries happened, and the Buccaneers fell off a cliff to end the year with an 8-9 record and no playoffs.

One big area the roster needs fixing is pass rusher, as Haason Reddick wasn’t the difference-maker Tampa Bay wanted.

And for Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley, his prediction for the offseason is that Cincinnati Bengals disgruntled pass rusher, Trey Hendrickson, lands in Tampa.

Could Bucs land Hendrickson?

Absolutely, they could. But it would be a costly thing to do.

You will be hard-pressed to get Trey for anything less than $30 million APY. Would the Buccaneers be content to pay that sort of money to an aging pass rusher? And most likely on a multi-year deal?

That is what general manager Jason Licht has to ask himself, because there’s no doubting Trey is expensive, but he would instantly upgrade Tampa’s defense and give them a monster along the defensive line.

The Buccaneers appear set offensively, and maybe this one move for Hendrickson is what is needed to make Tampa Bay go from also-rans to genuine contenders in 2026.
