The Indianapolis Colts could experience a relatively high amount of turnover on the defensive side of the football this offseason.

ESPN’s Mike Clay recently shared a chart that displayed what percentage of each team’s defensive snaps from the 2025 season are still under contract in 2026.

When it comes to the Colts, only 63% of their defensive snaps from this past season are from players still under contract heading into the upcoming offseason. This is the seventh-lowest mark in football.

There are other free agents on defense, but these are the big contributors and highlight the needs that the Colts have to address.

The defensive end position alongside of Liatu Latu has to be reshaped.

A starting safety next to Cam Bynum and a starting linebacker next to Zaire Franklin have to be found.

Bolstering the defensive tackle depth once again will have to be a priority.

This certainly could end up being a defensive-centric offseason for the Colts.

Salary-cap-wise, the Colts are positioned well to make some moves in free agency. In the draft, they are without a first-round pick and have seven selections in total, including compensatory picks.
