It is no secret that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson wasn’t himself in 2025.

Injuries plagued him, and in truth, he didn’t seem himself even after he returned from his hamstring issue, as the normally “electric” Lamar was nowhere to be seen as a runner.

As a result, the Ravens missed the playoffs, with Jackson playing only 13 games and going 6-7. As we turn to 2026, the hope is that Lamar can reset this offseason and be back to his MVP self.

For NFL.com’s Nick Shook, in his latest QB rankings, he has Lamar at No. 11.

“Lamar Jackson wasn’t himself for most of the 2025 season because of the injuries he suffered,” Shook wrote. “His mobility disappeared for weeks, but once it returned, he reminded us why he’s won the NFL MVP award twice. His showing in Week 18 was scintillating and will remain burned in my memory for quite some time.

“As Isaiah Likely told ‘NFL Daily’ on Radio Row during Super Bowl week, Jackson had that look in his eye that night. Hopefully, he’ll have it throughout 2026.”

Why NFL should be scared of QB ranking

Putting it simply, how often are quarterbacks of Lamar’s caliber down for back-to-back seasons?

Not often.

So, what am I saying? Well, what are the odds Lamar has as bad a year in 2026 as he did in 2025?

Likely not high, and that means he and the Ravens will be a far better proposition moving forward, plus with fresh ideas from their new coaching group, Lamar and Baltimore could be set for a rather quick climb up the AFC mountain.

They had a down year last season, but Lamar, as the 11th-best quarterback, won’t last long.

And should terrify the NFL.
