The Seattle Seahawks face competition to re-sign several key players in NFL free agency.

The Seattle Seahawks are still celebrating the team’s Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots. Soon, the confetti will eventually settle and general manager John Schneider faces plenty of decisions about how to keep the team’s championship roster intact.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox outlined each NFL team’s “worst-case scenario” for the offseason. The Seahawks are warned against a “mass exodus” with key players like Kenneth Walker, Rashid Shaheed and Riq Woolen heading to free agency.

Additionally, Seattle has already lost offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to the Las Vegas Raiders with more assistants generating interest around the NFL.

“Keeping a Super Bowl-caliber roster together is rarely an easy task, and that’s the challenge that Seahawks general manager Josh Schneider will face this offseason,” Knox wrote in a February 12, 2026, story titled, “Worst-Case Scenario for Every NFL Team’s Offseason.”

“Several key contributors, including cornerback Riq Woolen, receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed, cornerback Josh Jobe, safety Coby Bryant, and Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker III, are slated to be free agents next month. Other teams will be interested in them, looking to get a piece of that Super Bowl puzzle,” Knox continued.

“… A worst-case scenario, though, would see the Seahawks lose the majority of their top free agents, along with (Klint) Kubiak and several assistants, and end up with a team incapable of navigating the Super Bowl hangover.”

The Seahawks Are Projected to Have the 5th-Most Cap Space at $73 Million Ahead of NFL Free Agency

The good news for Seattle is the team has plenty of cap space to make a run at bringing back the championship team for 2026. Spotrac projects the Seahawks will have more than $73 million in cap space, the fifth-most in the NFL.

Seattle will also need to plan for the future with stars like Jaxon-Smith Njigba and Devin Witherspoon heading into the final year of their rookie contracts. The Seahawks can exercise the team’s fifth-year option for 2027 but would likely prefer to sign both players to long-term contract extensions.

Both Witherspoon and Njigba are headed for sizable raises on their next deals.

Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald on Ken Walker’s Future: ‘We Want Ken Back’

Fresh off a Super Bowl MVP, Walker is sure to generate plenty of interest in NFL free agency. Walker’s projected market value is a four-year, $36 million contract, per Spotrac. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald made it clear that the franchise wants to re-sign Walker.

“Of course, we want Ken back,” Macdonald told reporters on February 6, per NFL.com’s Kevin Patra. “He’s a phenomenal player. He’s a great person. He’s a great teammate. Those are the people we want in our building. Those are the people we want with the Seahawks.

“I’m sure Ken feels the same way. Again, those are things that we’re going to have to worry about, not right now. Those are decisions we’ll make in the future. But Ken knows how we feel about him. And I think we know how Ken feels about us.”

Fortunately for the 12s, the worst-case scenario is unlikely to come to fruition in Seattle. The Seahawks have plenty of cap space to re-sign Walker along with the additional key free agents. It will also be worth watching to see if Seattle makes a run to sign outside free agents as well.
