Ex-Giants special teams coordinator Michael Ghobrial joining Cardinals

Former New York Giants special teams coach Michael Ghobrial is set to join the Arizona Cardinals’ coaching staff. Ghobrial served as the New York Jets’ assistant special teams coordinator (2021-23) in his first NFL coaching role. The Jets led the NFL in kickoff yards per game allowed at 15.3 yards conceded in 2023. He then served as the Giants’ special teams coordinator from 2024-25.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Ghobrial has landed his next job in the National Football League.
The Cardinals made the sixth-fewest field goals in the NFL in 2025 (25). Arizona’s 75.8 percent field goal clip was third-worst. The Cardinals were, however, one of only eight teams to post a perfect point-after attempt conversion rate last season.
Ghobrial takes over for Jeff Rodgers as the Cardinals’ special teams coordinator.
