The Seattle Seahawks are hiring former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr as their inside linebackers coach, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Friday afternoon.

Why Bump is confident Seahawks will nail their OC search

The move reunites Orr with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald. Orr was Baltimore’s inside linebackers coach from 2022-23 when Macdonald was the Ravens’ defensive coordinator. Then after Macdonald was named Seattle’s head coach in January 2024, Orr replaced Macdonald as Baltimore’s DC.

Orr also played linebacker for the Ravens from 2014-16, back when Macdonald was a coaching intern and a defensive assistant for Baltimore. Macdonald and Orr then spent the next four seasons coaching together before Macdonald took the defensive coordinator position at Michigan in 2021.

The Ravens are undergoing significant coaching staff changes after longtime head coach John Harbaugh was fired last month.

According to Shefter, Orr had interviewed for multiple defensive coordinator jobs in recent weeks and had been requested to interview for the Las Vegas Raiders’ DC job.
