The Las Vegas Raiders on Friday made official the hiring of Mike McCoy as assistant head coach to Klint Kubiak’s staff.
McCoy is the former San Diego Chargers coach who spent last season in Tennessee, where he was promoted to Titans interim head coach for the final 11 games. He went 2-9 during that time.
He spent four years as the Chargers coach (2013-16) while also serving as the offensive coordinator in Denver for six years and Arizona for one. McCoy was also on the offensive staff of the Carolina Panthers from 2000-08.
Prior to his landing in Tennessee, the 53-year-old McCoy was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterbacks coach for three seasons, as Trevor Lawrence offered consecutive 4,000-yard passing seasons in 2022 and 2023.
