The Philadelphia Eagles season starting deflating mid-way through the year and never recovered, as the team lost 23-19 at home to the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card Round.
Over the course of recent years, there has been much back-and forth between Brown and the team, with the former Tennessee Titan having expressed frustration at his lack of targets and receptions over the past two seasons.
Although 2025 was better in terms of both targets and receptions than the year prior, when Philadelphia won the Super Bowl, there has still remained some rumblings that the three-time All-Pro could seek a trade away from the team.
In the case of that materializing, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton put together some trade packages different teams could offer, and one interesting one saw the Eagles trade Brown to the Baltimore Ravens for a second round pick this year, along with former first round wideout, Rashod Bateman.
AJ Brown Trade Suggestion With Ravens Lands them 1st Rounder
According to Moton, this could be a win-win scenario that sees the Ravens feature an offense with two #1 receivers, and gives Philadelphia both valuable draft capital and additional cap room to make free agent additions in March.
“Brown would reunite with his former Tennessee Titans teammate, Derrick Henry, and add to the team’s physical identity.” Moton writes. “The 6’1″, 226-pound outside receiver can be a complement to Flowers, who’s a shifty 5’9” wideout who lines up on the boundary and in the slot.
Jackson could post career numbers with Brown and Flowers as his top two targets.”
Moton also believes that in a new physical setting, the Eagles could get the most out of Bateman.
“The Eagles can get more out of Bateman. Last June, he signed a three-year, $36.75 million extension and followed up with 19 catches for 224 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. In a trade to Philadelphia, the five-year veteran can operate as the clear-cut No. 2 option behind DeVonta Smith.”
Would an AJ Brown Trade to the Ravens Make Sense?
Rashod Bateman is not a hugely valuable asset at this point in time, but there is no doubt he remains a talented player in the league capable of having a WR2 ceiling.
Bateman has never managed to eclipse 1000 receiving yards in a single season, but he has still managed to prove himself to be an important part of Baltimore’s offense over the past half decade or so.
But even without Bateman, a second round pick return for the 28-year old, who will be 29 by the time the season starts is a very strong return for Philadelphia.
And if they can clear him off their books in addition, there is no doubt that the Eagles would consider this deal a win.
