“First of all, as my dad always would teach us, great coaches are great teachers,” Harbaugh said in a team press release. “When putting together a staff, I look for the ability to create a vision and share the vision and to get everybody on the same page in your room, guys that are demanding, guys that ask a lot of the guys in terms of a high standard. And, also, believe them into that standard, help them believe in themselves to make sure that every player knows that every coach is really in their corner.”
According to the Giants’ press release, 15 of the coaches previously worked under Harbaugh with the Ravens, including Wilson, Horton, Rosburg, Clark, D’Alesio, Ellis, Johnson, Pees, Riley, Robinson, Roman, Schrack, Shrift, Taggart, and Weist. Harbaugh retained three position coaches from the Giants’ previous staff, including Bullen, Kelly, and Hall.
In the Strength and Conditioning/Performance department, six coaches were retained, including Wellman, Allen, Coad, Naylor, Wilson, and Matthew Frakes (director of performance nutrition).
“All the coaches that we retained are great coaches, great guys, highly recommended from the people here in the building, but also around the league,” Harbaugh said. “It could have been more. I mean, there’s a lot of great coaches on this staff previously, guys that we have great respect for, but you also want to bring in new guys and guys that you’ve known over the years. So, you just try to kind of create the best mix to build the best team of coaches that you possibly can. I just really feel fortunate and blessed that those three guys are still with us.”
The team’s press release highlighted Rosburg. “Megan Rosburg, our most valuable coach, definitely our most valuable coach right now,” Harbaugh said. “She’s been doing a great job of keeping me organized and also she understands the tenor of what we’re trying to accomplish. She knows the value system right now. She knows what we’re looking for, and she sets a good foundation for us.”
The full bios of all of the coaches are available in the New York Giants Coaching Staff section of the website.
DAWN APONTE HIRING OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED…
The Giants have officially confirmed that the team has hired Dawn Aponte as the team’s new senior vice president of football operations and strategy. She will be filling the role previously held by Kevin Abrams before he was let go by the team last month. According to the Giants, Aponte is now “responsible for strategic planning for football operations, analytics, salary cap management, player contract negotiations, compliance, and working closely with the college and pro personnel departments.”
Since 2017, Aponte has been the chief administrator of football operations for the NFL. From 2010-2016, she was with the Miami Dolphins as senior vice president of football operations and then executive vice president of football administration. It is important to note that current Giants’ General Manager Joe Schoen was with the Dolphins during her tenure there. Aponte has also spent time with the Cleveland Browns (vice president of football administration, 2009-2010), NFL (vice president of labor finance, 2006-2008), and New York Jets (various roles, 1994-2005). She has also interviewed for general manager positions with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024 and Jets in 2025.
ADAM BENNETT IS NEW HEAD ATHLETIC TRAINER…
The Giants have officially announced that Adam Bennett will be the team’s new head athletic trainer, replacing Ronnie Barnes, who had served in that role since 1980. Barnes remains senior vice president of medical services. Since 2023, Bennett has been the head athletic trainer at the University of Miami. Prior to Miami, Bennett worked at Special Operations Command Headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, where he worked with injured service members. From 2017 to 2021, Bennett was the head athletic trainer at Florida Atlantic University.
GIANTS SIGN WIDE RECEIVER…
The Giants have signed WR Courtney Jackson. The 24-year old, 5’11”, 189-pound Jackson was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Denver Broncos after the 2025 NFL Draft. He was waived by Denver in late August and then signed by the Seattle Seahawks to their Practice Squad a few days later. He spent the season on Seattle’s Practice Squad.
