The Seattle Seahawks are searching for a new offensive coordinator.
There is no time to celebrate for the Seattle Seahawks as NFL teams appear to be taking a long look at the Super Bowl champions’ coaching staff. Seattle has already lost offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Additional Seahawks assistants have been linked to NFL vacancies, especially with Kubiak looking to fill out his new Raiders staff. The latest buzz has been that head coach Mike Macdonald will likely replace Kubiak with one of the team’s current assistants.
That said, the Seahawks are interviewing external candidates, including Arizona Cardinals pass game specialist Conner Senger, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Could the Seahawks turn to another former Cardinals coach to fill the vacancy?
Let’s explore whether Kliff Kingsbury could be a fit as the next Seahawks offensive coordinator.
Seahawks Rumors: Seattle Predicted to Replace Klint Kubiak With Kliff Kingsbury as the New Offensive Coordinator
CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani offered ten “crazy” predictions for the NFL offseason. The analyst predicts Seattle will hire Kingsbury to replace Kubiak as the team’s new offensive coordinator.
Most recently, Kingsbury worked alongside star quarterback Jayden Daniels as the Washington Commanders offensive coordinator. Kingsbury accepted a new role with the Los Angeles Rams this offseason, but could the veteran coach be swayed by an offer from Seattle?
“After failing to secure a head-coaching gig or offensive coordinator job this offseason, Kliff Kingsbury is set to join the Los Angeles Rams’ coaching staff, per ESPN,” Dajani wrote in a February 10, 2026, story titled, “Ten crazy 2026 NFL offseason predictions: Justin Jefferson traded to Bills, two new rule changes and more.” “Or is he? Klint Kubiak is leaving the Seahawks to become the next head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, which means the offensive coordinator job is open in Seattle. Our bold prediction is that Kingsbury leaves the Rams for their NFC West rival.
“Kingsbury spent the past two seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders before the two sides ‘mutually agreed to part ways.’ In 2024, Washington shocked the NFL world by going 12-5 thanks to a historic rookie season from Jayden Daniels. Kingsbury’s unit ranked No. 7 in total offense, and No. 5 in scoring offense.”
The Seahawks Are Expected to Promote a Current Assistant Coach to Offensive Coordinator: Insider
Kingsbury was once on a four-year, $22 million contract with the Cardinals, per The Sporting News. The Cardinals fired Kingsbury after the 2022 season.
Kingsbury would be a big-name hire, but it would still be a surprise if Seattle went this direction. The News Tribune’s Gregg Bell reported that the Seahawks are expected to promote one of the team’s current assistants to the offensive coordinator role.
“I’m told Seahawks and coach Mike Macdonald are closing in on hiring from within the team’s current coaching staff to be Seattle’s new offensive coordinator to replace Klint Kubiak,” Bell explained in a February 9, message on X.
Seahawks News: Mike Macdonald Hired Ex-Ravens DC Zach Orr to the Coaching Staff
Seattle is already making moves to restructure the team’s coaching staff. The Seahawks’ first major move was hiring former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr.
“Mike Macdonald wanted to bring Orr with him to Seattle as DC before the Ravens promoted him to that role in 2024,” ESPN’s Brady Henderson revealed in a February 13, post on X.
“Now he gets him on staff as inside LBs coach — and a potential replacement for Aden Durde if he gets an HC job next year like some in the organization think he will.”
