The San Francisco 49ers are entering an offseason with two very clear needs to address, one on each side of the ball. Offensively, the 49ers need to add to their wide receiver room. Defensively, pass rush is a must.
Nick Bosa is great, but as seen this past season, if he’s not on the field, there’s very little pass rush. They finished with 20 sacks, three fewer than Myles Garrett did on his own. To resolve this issue, why not take a chance on a top player?
As Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports proposes, the 49ers could trade for Las Vegas Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby. Sullivan’s proposal would send two draft picks, both inside the top 60, to the Raiders to land the NFL’s available best pass rusher this offseason.
49ers trade proposal sends 2 top-60 picks for Maxx Crosby
“Raiders get: 2026 first-round pick (No. 26 overall), 2026 second-round pick (No. 58 overall). 49ers get: EDGE Maxx Crosby,” Sullivan proposed.
This would be a fairly straightforward trade for the superstar pass rusher. Crosby recently signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension with the Raiders this past offseason.
He’s under contract through 2029, and if the 49ers were to trade for him, they’d be taking on the rest of his massive contract.
While it won’t be cheap, it’s the kind of player that’s more than worth the price tag. He’s a five-time Pro Bowler who is still 28 years old.

He’s played in 110 games over the last seven years and has recorded 69.5 sacks during his career. He’s one of the better pass rushers in the NFL, only being overshadowed by Bose, Garrett, and Micah Parsons.
If the 49ers could add him, and especially if it only costs their first and second round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, it would be an incredible way for the 49ers to improve their pass rush woes.
He’s the best option that could be available this offseason, and if the 49ers could pull such a trade off, it would be a no-brainer. Bosa and Crosby would be the best pass-rushing duo in the NFL, and instantly fix the biggest issue for the 49ers in one move.
