New York Giants legend and two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning recently offered pointed advice on bolstering the team’s offense around rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
While praising Dart’s poise in his debut season—highlighting 24 touchdowns against just five interceptions despite a 4-8 record—Manning turned his focus to the wide receiver corps.

Manning strongly endorsed adding a complementary target for standout rookie Malik Nabers, who suffered a torn ACL in 2025.
“I definitely agree that they probably need a true No. 2 to go with Malik Nabers,” Manning told Sports Boom.
He emphasized that elite offenses thrive with such pairings, suggesting the Giants pursue this via free agency or the draft, where they hold the No. 5 overall pick in 2026.
“Some of the best offenses are doing that high-powered. I don’t know if they need to do that in the draft, or it kind of depends on free agency. I wouldn’t mind if there’s a good free agent receiver that could be that No. 2, kind of that 1B almost,” Manning said.

Manning expressed a preference for a veteran who could mentor Nabers on route-running nuances and getting open against specific coverages, stressing the value of experience for the young star’s development.
With promising pieces like Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo (before his injury), Manning sees a reliable second option as key to elevating the unit.
