The Cleveland Browns need to make a lot of additions on the offensive side of the ball. David Njoku is leaving in free agency, and the entire offensive line is hitting free agency as well.
But that’s not the only areas of the roster that need help. Quinshon Judkins is coming off a brutal injury, and running back depth is a sneaky need. Wide receiver is a must-add this offseason, but the biggest question is not in any of those positions.
Instead, as Bradley Locker of PFF.com notes, the biggest question for the Browns this offseason revolves around Shedeur Sanders and the quarterback room in the wake of Todd Monken being hired.
Browns face big QB room questions this offseason
“Will Monken view Watson or Sanders as his initial QB1, fixing other offensive elements instead of the situation under center?” Locker writes. “Alternatively, could Cleveland try to jockey for free agent Malik Willis or trade for someone like Kyler Murray?
The Browns could very easily decide to stick with Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and Deshaun Watson as their quarterbacks for the 2026 NFL season.
But, as Locker posed, they could also go out and add a veteran quarterback who can either compete or land the starting job as Monken makes his influence felt on the roster.
It’s a difficult question, especially with a new head coach who is trying to stick in Cleveland where there’s been a lot of turnover over the years.

Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel aren’t the most inspiring starters, as both have limited ceilings at this point in their careers.
Sanders does seem to have the highest ceiling of these current Browns quarterbacks, but his floor is just as low, if not lower than, that of any quarterback in the NFL.
His interception and sack issues might be too much for Monken, which could lead to the Browns turning to a different quarterback for the 2026 season.
While the rest of the offense needs work, the quarterback room is the biggest question mark for the Browns this offseason. It’s the most interesting room on the Browns roster, and could look very different by the start of the season, or nothing could change.
