In the last three drafts, Brian Gutekunst has selected two quarterbacks on Day 3. The Green Bay Packers general manager drafted Sean Clifford in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft and Michael Pratt in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

With Jordan Love’s backup, Malik Willis set to hit the open market and fetch a big payday, the Packers could be in the market to invest another Day 3 pick as they look to find a new backup for Love.

Let’s dive into some Day 3 quarterbacks who could be targets for the Packers during the 2026 NFL Draft.

Mark Gronowski, Iowa

The winningest quarterback in college football history started his collegiate career at South Dakota State University, where he helped guide the Jackrabbits to two national championships. He has that “it” factor and he’s not going to sink the ship. He’d keep Green Bay’s offense on track if he were forced into action. Much like Willis, the former SDSU quarterback can do damage with his legs. This past season at Iowa, he picked up 49 first downs with his legs. During his time in Brookings, he picked up 146 first downs on the ground and also had 60 runs of 10-plus yards.

Payton helped guide the Bison to a national championship during his first season as a starter. The southpaw quarterback threw for 2,719 yards and 16 touchdowns. Payton added 777 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. A former baseball player, Payton has the arm strength to rip throws into tight windows. He’s able to navigate the rush and make accurate throws on the move. He has good acceleration when he gets outside the pocket and runs with the determination of a running back.

Behren Morton, Texas Tech

Mrton has a quick setup and gets the ball out quickly. He sees the field well and understands where his outlets are. He’s athletic in the pocket and comfortable making throws outside the pocket. He’s got good zip on short and intermediate throws and shows good accuracy. Over the past two seasons, Morton threw for 5,900 yards and 47 touchdowns.

Taylen Green, Arkansas

The transfer from Boise State, Green passed for 5,868 yards and 34 touchdowns during his two seasons at Arkansas. Standing at 6-6 and 229 pounds, Green looks good off the bus and he has a rocket for an arm. Now it will be up to an NFL coaching staff to harness that natural arm strength and help him spray the ball accurately all over the field. Green can do damage with his legs, rushing for 1,379 yards and 16 touchdowns during his two seasons with the Razorbacks.

Sawyer Robertson, Baylor

A Texas native, Robertson started his collegiate career at Mississippi State before transferring to Baylor. This past season, Robertson threw for 3,681 yards and 31 touchdowns. He’s a natural gunslinger with easy-looking arm talent. He has a quick reaction to get the ball out and on time.

Aidan Bouman, USD

USD’s all-time leader in passing yards and completions is going to impress teams when he gets in front of them. He’s a leader and an impressive individual off the field. At 6-5, 225 pounds, the USD quarterback is well built. He finished this past season with 2,876 yards and 26 touchdowns. The Minnesota native and Iowa State transfer has ties to Green Bay. Bouman’s father, Todd Bouman, a long-time backup NFL quarterback, spent a minute with the Packers in 2006 as the team’s backup quarterback after Aaron Rodgers got injured.
