The 2026 NFL coaching carousel is nearing its conclusion, but one more 49ers assistant is in conversations to take a promotion with an NFC West rival.

San Francisco tight ends coach Brian Fleury is interviewing Saturday for the offensive coordinator role with the Seattle Seahawks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.

Just after winning Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium, former Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak departed to become the new head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, hence Seattle’s late search for a replacement.

Fleury has been with the 49ers since 2019, when he joined the team as a defensive quality control coach. He then switched sides of the ball as an offensive quality control coach for the 2020-21 seasons, before taking over as San Francisco’s tight ends coach in 2022. He was promoted again to run game coordinator/tight ends coach for the 2025 NFL season.

The 49ers already lost two assistants this offseason, with former defensive coordinator Robert Saleh taking the Tennessee Titans’ head-coaching job. Saleh also brought over Gus Bradley, who was San Francisco’s assistant head coach of defense in 2025.

Meanwhile, San Francisco offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak received some head-coaching interest as well, with multiple teams reportedly requesting to interview him but ultimately hiring other candidates.
