The Arizona Cardinals got rid of head coach Jonathan Gannon in favor of Mike LaFluer, but now the real move they need to make is parting ways with quarterback Kyler Murray.

One thing is clear right off the jump, and that’s the fact the Cardinals are looking to move on from Murray, and trading him is a far better option. Here’s what NFL Insider Adam Schefter said:
“Trading Murray would create $34.7 million in cap savings for the Cardinals while leaving behind $17.9 million in dead money, which would seem to be a more attractive alternative if Arizona can find a trade partner.”
We now know that it’s likely confirmed that they will be looking for a trade partner, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are the perfect partner for a number of reasons.
First off, the Cardinals director of player personell when Murray was drafted, Quentin Harris, is a senior personell assistant for the Steelers, which could be a connection to pushing the organization to pursue a trade.
Also the fact that the Steelers quarterbacks have been very productive in the win collumn despite having very mediocre play at times.
Steelers QBs since 2020: Kenny Pickett: 14–10, Mason Rudolph: 8–5–1, Mitchell Trubisky: 2–5, Justin Fields: 4–2, Russell Wilson: 6–5, Aaron Rodgers: 10–6.
It’s very clear at this point, Pittsburgh needs to find a true difference maker at quarterback, or they risk wasting away this roster.

Pittsburgh Steelers Receive: QB Kyler Murray
The final thoughts on Kyler to the Steelers is the fact that there are a ton of hurdles that make this unlikely. First is the black cloud of Aaron Rodgers potentially returning, which seems like a strong possibility because of the hiring of Rodgers’s former coach Mike McCarthy.
Second, there have been reports that Kyler will likely not return anywhere close to a 1st-3rd round pick, which if true, likely would be a waste of resources and should result in Murray being on the roster one more season.
Finally, the fact that the Steelers quarterback position could be better suited rocking with someone like Will Howard who has already been in the system, and is a cheap option.
This could allow for Pittsburgh to build their roster with their draft picks instead of testing it on a smaller quarterback who doesn’t fit the bill of a hard-nosed AFC North football player.
