Tom Brady might be retired, but that still hasn’t stopped the New York Jets from catching strays from the seven-time Super Bowl-winning former NFL quarterback. Brady referenced the Jets in a new documentary about the San Francisco 49ers.

He grew up as a 49ers fan and watched the team’s 1980s dynasty take shape. He idolized Pro Football Hall of Famer and four-time Super Bowl champion Joe Montana during his legendary run in San Francisco. There was also Roger Craig, Dwight Clark and so many others.

When appearing in the documentary, Brady credited his love for San Francisco for helping him achieve NFL greatness, while also taking a verbal swipe at the Jets.

“I don’t think I could have been what I was if I grew up rooting for the Jets,” Brady said in “Rise of the 49ers: We Built This City.”

It makes you wonder how different Brady’s journey might have been if he had grown up as a Jets fan. Thankfully, the NFL world will never know.
