BEN ROETHLISBERGER AT PBA IN PITTSBURGH

It’s been quite an interesting week with ex-Steelers, namely Joey Porter Jr., taking shots at Ben Roethlisberger as a teammate. Roethlisberger has had plenty of defenders as well, and the comments from Porter didn’t stop Roethlisberger from getting a nice ovation during a Professional Bull Riding event at PPG Paints Arena on Monday Night.

Roethlisberger was in attendance with former Steelers teammate Brett Keisel.

We’ll see if Roethlisberger has a podcast this week and issues a response to Porter, but he doesn’t seem to be very bothered by the comments made this week.

BROWNS INTERVIEWING DC CANDIDATES

The Cleveland Browns are holding in-person interviews with two defensive coordinator candidates. Houston Texans’ defensive passing game coordinator Cory Undlin and Atlanta Falcons’ defensive passing game coordinator Mike Rutenberg are interviewing for the job this weekend, per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Cabot added that a decision could be made in the next day or two.

Cleveland lost defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz after he was passed over for the team’s head coach opening, which eventually went to Todd Monken. Browns’ linebackers coach Jason Tarver was also in the mix, and it’s unclear if he still is, as Cabot didn’t state that only Undlin and Rutenberg were interviewing. With the NFL Combine approaching, Cleveland should have a coordinator hired within the next few days.

WARREN SEITZ’S DEBUT DISASTER

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Warren Seitz was a 10th-round pick by the team in the 1986 NFL Draft, but Seitz’s career got off on a rough note. Seitz boarded a bus headed to Pittsburgh, but he said the bus went opposite of Pittsburgh and ended over an hour away from the city in an interview with Kansas Sports Chatter.

Seitz said he then went 80-90 miles per hour to arrive to the game in time, and he showed up just as the team was getting back from the locker room to a meal. His absence went unnoticed, helping him avoid a potential fine or release. It all worked out for Seitz in the end, but it must have been a scary few hours as he realized that he might not be with the team for his first NFL game.
