The Miami Dolphins are overhauling just about everything within the organization ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Jeff Hafley is in at head coach to replace Mike McDaniel, Jon-Eric Sullivan has been hired as the team’s new GM, Tyreek Hill is expected to be released in the coming months, and there are serious questions about Tua Tagovailoa’s status as Miami’s franchise quarterback.
This franchise is very much in a state of flux, and we could see them explore a number of different paths this spring.
Could they roll out Quinn Ewers at quarterback once again? Do they aggressively pursue another signal caller? Is it possible that they sell off some assets and further enter a rebuild?
Just about everything is on the table; let’s explore one potential option for them this season.

Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos: NFL Trade Idea
We’re a long way off from the beginning of the 2026 season, but the Denver Broncos are quite clearly among the teams that could put together a Super Bowl run next year.
However, this roster is far from perfect. The clearest way to take this group to the next level is to give Bo Nix another high-end weapon.
Lou Scataglia of FanSided has predicted that we’ll see the Broncos get aggressive by making a trade for Jaylen Waddle this offseason.
“Courtland Sutton is not a WR1, but more fitting as a high-end no. 2. Waddle would still make a ton of sense for the Broncos for the 30th overall pick. With the Miami Dolphins beginning a new era, and likely to move on from Tua Tagovailoa this offseason, they should continue to rip the Band-Aid of and acquire a second first-round pick in a Waddle trade,” wrote Scataglia.
Is a Jaylen Waddle to Broncos Trade Realistic?
Both teams possess the motive to make this deal: Denver needs an impactful pass catcher, while Miami needs to part ways with bigger contracts and amass draft capital to turn things around.
The real question is whether the finances and price point make sense.
Waddle’s contract shouldn’t be a sticking point in this deal. The Dolphins would take on just over $23 million in dead cap, which isn’t ideal, but they can stomach that number.
Meanwhile, Denver has $26 million in cap space at the moment, so they can reasonably take on Waddle’s contract. His $11.7 million cap hit in 2026 is also a great number for a team looking to win a championship immediately.
The price also checks out.
In a vacuum, Waddle isn’t a player who would command a first-round pick on the trading block. However, with the knowledge that Denver has one of the last picks in the first round (No. 30), this is a fair deal.
Ultimately, the feasibility of this deal will hinge on Miami’s desire to completely blow things up and start from scratch. If the Dolphins are looking to completely change their identity, we could certainly see Waddle dealt to Denver for a first-rounder.
