Ranking the Top 2026 NFL Free-Agent Quarterbacks for Fantasy Football

Free agency reshapes the NFL landscape in massive ways from year to year, and it also has a major impact on how fantasy football picks are valued. Even though player movement is a month away from kicking off, we’ll take a look at all of the noteworthy impending free agents through the lens of potential fantasy football value.

Ranking Fantasy Football’s Prominent Free-Agent QBs in 2026

Quarterbacks worth their salt rarely find themselves hitting the open market without some underlying factors, such as injury, voided options, and aging out of their prime years.

As such, this year’s crop of unrestricted free agents is about as weak as it gets. It’s highlighted by a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers, who appears to be either returning to the Pittsburgh Steelers or retiring, and Daniel Jones coming off a torn Achilles tendon.

Malik Willis has flashed considerable growth and is unlikely to return to the Green Bay Packers, provided another team is willing to present him a chance at starting.

Beyond that trio, we have a bunch of wild cards and short-term solutions with extremely limited fantasy appeal. Could the right coaching staff get something out of Zach Wilson or Trey Lance? Both of whom are still 26 or younger and were top-three picks in their respective draft classes. Could a team offer Jimmy Garoppolo or Marcus Mariota a chance at starting? Does it matter? Probably not, but recent career turnarounds at the position make it feel not so outlandish.
